I was so sorry to hear of Joanne's illness and death. I was really
fortunate to have had her for a friend during our college years
and beyond. I always thought of you and Joanne as exceptional
people with an exceptional marriage. It was a pleasure and an
honor to know you both. I will be with you on line and in spirit
for the memorial service.

Ben, Alex and I always enjoyed being with you and Joanne and your
family in Georgia, and when we met in other places you or we
lived. Your lives were full with projects and travels, and we
always looked forward to your holiday cards full of news. Joanne
was interesting, intelligent and busy, with many friends whose
lives, like yours, she enriched. Our thoughts are with you and
your family and with the others she left behind as you go through
this sad time.

Joanne and Ben are old friends from Ben's high school alma mater-
Decatur High School. We enjoyed being together on a 50th reunion
cruise celebration. Joanne was a lovely, refined, intelligent
woman, and she will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
Ben, I love you and if you need anything, please do not hesitate
to call. You are in my prayers too.

Dear Ben,
You will recall that Joanne and I determined that she was born on
a Sunday morning in 1939 and I was born that evening. Not many can
share their birth on the very same day 74 years ago. Carolyn and I
extend our heartfelt sympathy. May God bless you with comfort and
peace during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and
prayers.

Ben, It is hard to believe that your dear wife is gone. She seemed
fine at the reuntion, but perhaps she was not. You were so kind to
take all those wonderful photos and send them to us on a disc. I
have enjoyed reliving the event. My favorite was the Twins with
Johnny Morrow and Dick Johnston (twim\ns for the night). Please
know that I am thinking of you . Beverly Kenton Mason. Class of
