I wish to extend my condolences to the immediate family of Anna Elisa
and share my fond memories of time spent with Ben Sr. and Anna Elisa. I
am a grandson of the late Flora Hill (Ben Sr.’s sister.) During my
childhood Ben and Anna Elisa would visit Kentucky to spend time with
Flora and her large extended family, which included me, mom and dad, 3
brothers and a sister. Ben and Anna Elisa had a knack for exploring
your interests and being very generous in conversation. They would jump
from baseball to music to geology, always making you feel like you were
the most important person in the room. I still have a few shirts and
vests that Anna Elisa sent to me from the Roswell Clothes Closet. She
sent them to me after a visit in which I shared that I was traveling
the country playing nightclubs in a punk rock band. I told her what I
liked and she delivered. I very much enjoyed reading about her many
accomplishments. What a wonderful life.

Visitor Comments: What a wonderful
tribute to a great lady. Looking at these pictures and memories makes
one breath a little deeper and sigh. One of the last times we spent
with Anna Elisa at Jessie's she shared some old photographs and
although it was difficult she took her time and explained that she is
sure one doesn't think in 'words'. "I think in pictures" she said. In
fact she knew exactly what she was thinking about but found it harder
to remember the words that let her share her thoughts. What
perception..teaching me that day, a new way to consider life! I've
never forgotten that moment. I always think of her when I hear
'different' languages or even when I'm searching for a word myself. We
all do 'think' in the same pictures. She'd be so happy to see we are
enjoying these photographs and remembering the wonderful times we've
shared and the lives our amazing Aunt touched in so many ways. Love to
all. |

Visitor Comments: Ms. Trimble was my
teacher at Chamblee High,1970. I will never forget her compassion,
kindness and her acceptance of me during a difficult time in my life.
She took me in for a night when i ran away from home. She treated me as
if i was something special. She let me stay for dinner with her guests
the next day. She taught me something about cooking, "smell the herbs
before your put them in your cooking". She had me sniff a few bottles,
and i have been doing it ever since. I have very fond memories of her
and i loved her gentle way. That is how i remember her. My sympathies
and all my blessings to her family. |

Visitor Comments: Mrs. Trimble was
one of my teachers at Chamblee high school in 1968-69. She was
memorable in so many ways and I am so very proud to have known her,
even so briefly. She was one teacher, Like Mrs. Timmie and Mrs. Curry,
that we all adored and felt genuine friendship and admiration for. It
is a delight to find such common interests as our shared support the
Carter Center and the efforts of that wonderful organization. with
deepest sympathy to her family and all who knew her. |

Visitor Comments: I find it
difficult to express all of my feelings about my Aunt Elisa. Sharing
the same middle name always created a special bond for me with her. I
read what others have said and yes all of those things were
inspirational to me as well. But one thing which I can never forget,
nor thank her enough for was no matter what she was always there for
me, not only as an Aunt but when I became an adult she was a friend.
Like her, my three other aunts, and my dad I too became a teacher. That
professional bonding and love of the profession itself will never die.
She also was a bedrock of faith in her God and Saviour which worldly
knowledge never shattered. Her memories will linger forever. Her name
sake A'isaBoo (Miss Boo) |

Visitor Comments: Anna Elisa had a
profound impact on my childhood- I was enraptured by her very essence.
Her vigor, compassion, sense of duty, and love of nature inspired me to
want to do everything from ride horses and hike the Appalachian trail
to one day become a teacher and speak out on educational issues around
the world. She touched so many lives in so many ways; she will be in my
heart always. I’m thinking of you all. Much Love, Karina Linch. |

Visitor Comments: As one of Ben's
best friends during childhood I spent many happy times in the Trimble
home. Anna Elisa always made me feel very secure and comfortable there.
Her smile and loving words made me happy to be there. And my mother,
who considered Anna Elisa a special friend, would say things to me that
led me to believe that Anna Elisa was very real and very true. I feel
sad today that she is gone. |
