Anna Elisa Trimble

soon joined Central Presbyterian Church. During this time, she served as a Camp Fire Girl leader, a sponsor of the Atlanta Junior Music Club and the Southern Ballet, and as Director of the Junior Day Camp at Fritz Orr Camp.

After receiving a Masters Degree in Education from Emory University in 1953, Mrs. Trimble taught at Druid Hills High from 1955 to 1963. In 1961, the family moved to Roswell, Ga. and became members of the Roswell Presbyterian Church and subsequently, the Northminster Presbyterian Church, where they were active in many church activities, including Sunday School and choir.

In 1963, she joined the faculty at Chamblee High, where she taught until her retirement in 1974. In 1970, she was honored by Yale University with one of four national Distinguished Teaching Awards.  
                    
The Trimbles were active entertainers at the Timberlake home in Roswell. Guests frequently included family, friends, and visitors from abroad, as well as participants in the Atlanta Turkish-American Association, the Atlanta Committee for International Visitors, and the Experiment for International Living. Both she and her husband were avid gardeners and following retirement, she spent many hours horseback riding. 

During the administration of Gov. Jimmy Carter, she served on the  committee to revamp the state education law. During the 1976 Presidential campaign, (and again in 1980), she participated as a volunteer in the Peanut Brigade. After the Carter  Presidency, she worked for many years as a volunteer in the Carter  Center. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters, Josephine Smith Cannon and Faye Esther Linch. She is survived by a son Benjamin Andres Trimble and daughter-in-law Joanne Swendsen Trimble of Austin, Texas, a daughter Jessie Romney Ozmelek and son-in-law Savas Ozmelek of Augusta, Ga., a grandson and granddaughter-in-law Benjamin Raif and Kerry McEnerney Ozmelek of Pittsburgh, Pa., a granddaughter and grandson-in-law Elisa Aylin and David Michael Lewallen, Jr. of Canton, Ga., and three great-grandsons Evan Raif and Ryan Preston Ozmelek and Cameron Michael Lewallen.  

A funeral service will be held at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Old Alabama Road in Roswell at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 20th with burial at 10:00AM, Monday, Oct 22 in the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery, Russellville, Ky.
